Making a DIFFERENCE...

We just returned from participating in the Supercities MS Walk for the cure, what a great way to spend the morning. As a team we raised over $1000, $1235 actually. Thanks to all of you who helped us make a difference. We felt amazing being able to give over that much in donations. The top team raised $10,000 and the top individual $8500, YIKES! We have something to strive for as a target for next year.

The weather was misty, not too bad all in all, and there was a pretty good turn out. As a group we raised over $45,ooo today and there are still other pledges to come in and other walks happening. Well done everyone. What a cute little team!

These are a few shots of some amazing cards that Eme was given by a friend of my Mom's. Thanks Babs. They are all of birds with numbers. Each card depicting a different kind of bird. They are composed of water colour paints, pencil drawing and fabric. They are so beautiful. Despite the fact that I am generally an anti-border kind of gal, I put them up as a border in Eme's room for us to enjoy. The pictures below will give you and idea. I would go and take better images to show you, but Eme is sleeping right now, which is why I can post. Thus waking her up by taking pictues in her room seems counter productive. I will try to get better close up shots to show you the details.

I love how it all starts with one robin.
As for other bits to tell... we are off to Maplewood farms tomorrow morning with Cam, Zoe and Sarah. This should be very interesting for Eme. It will be her first time seeing animals other that dogs and cats. (Phil's mom is over tonight, and so she will be joining us.) It should be great. Keep your eyes peeled for entertaining photos of this to come, and hope for nice weather.

Also, we have decided to head over to Saltspring, a lovely little gulf island in the Pacific, for Easter. It will be a bit of a trick to get there and back with the ferries being mostly booked at this point, but it should work out ok. It will be well worth it I am sure. We will see most of my family and then detour to have a quick visit with Phil's fam in Victoria on the way home.

Other than that, I had a great sleep last night, probably due to the fabulous dinner my sister made us (and the couple of glasses of wine that accompanied). It is always lovely to have someone make you dinner. I don't care what it is... however it is hard to appreciate grilled cheese when someone has made you pork tenderloin with a cranberry chutney, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus and green salad followed by raspberry rhubarb pie and ice cream for dessert. Yum! I shall be spoiled for other things for a few days at least.
